Is baldness sexy? Or are men right to hide hair loss with comb overs?

Just wondering. http://www.dilbert.com/fast/1993-04-13/ What are your views on this?Is baldness sexy? Or are men right to hide hair loss with comb overs?
It depends on the guy. Sometimes a bald head is extremely sexy, and sometimes it looks really bad. However, a comb over always looks bad. It makes it seem like the guy is trying to hide his looks when instead he would be a lot sexier if he embraced the way that he looked because sexy is a state of mind. If you don't feel sexy (i.e. hiding your hair loss with comb overs), then you won't appear as sexy to other people.Is baldness sexy? Or are men right to hide hair loss with comb overs?
The wost thing a man can ever do if he is going bald is to comb it over or try to cover it up!

It is inevitable that most men will lose their hair at some stage and I think most women understand this (if they don't then they are pretty shallow!).

Men with hair or no hair can both be as attractive as th other. It all depends on their personality and ho they carry themselves...
I think men look fine eitherway - bald or with hair. I think the only time it doesn't suit some people is when you've seen them with hair, then they go and get it all shaved off and you think they looked a hundred times better before.
At some point as a blading man you just have to accept it, cut it short and live with it. It's quite liberating to not have to worry about your hairstyle. My girlfriend likes my hair as it is.
A comb over is a man just asking to be laughed at. Boldness over a time can look good but if a man shaves his head it makes there head look deformed
Baldness is better than comb overs but having having hair is better still.

cc
just go bald its a lot sexier for a man to sport a bald head or receeding hair line than to hide behind a comb over
personality is more sexy.....don't be complex about that
Personal Preferance. Personally, I like a guy with a full head of hair, but thats just me.
dear god, do NOT NOT NOT do the comb over

so nasty

bald is beautiful baby
i think some men are sexy bald,

it depends, each to there own....however a comb over is a noooooooo go!!
comb overs tells people that u are not confident. just shave your head, most woman dont mind bald man.

  • Hair loss - baldness?

    Does the hair ever grow back after it is lost??a nd how to prevent it??Hair loss - baldness?
    It can, but don't count on it. You prevent it by paying a lot of money, either by plugs or regrowth products. The better solution is to disconnect your self image from the dead cells popping out of the top of your head.Hair loss - baldness?
    it all depends on what causes the hairloss. if it just part of the hair cycle where the old falls and and the new grows through, then yeah it grows back. if it is hair and scalp disorder like alopecia, apart from the severest form, it is very likely to grow back. but if the hair is falling out, like baldness, it is because the hair follicle, or root is dead and not holding in place.

    No, deal with it.
    Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

    Does any one know the best way to prevent hair loss. also if there is a best & sure shot treatment to Baldness

    Heredity plays a big part in hair loss. However, good diet can be somewhat beneficial in preventing or at best delaying hair loss.

    I began having thinning of my hair during menopause. At my hairdresser's suggestion I began taking daily biotin supplements in addition to a multi vitamin and calcium. Without a doubt, my hair loss has stopped and the quality of my hair has greatly improved.

    If you decide to try biotin, it will take several months to see an improvement.

    good luck!
    the only way to make sure that ur hair stays on ur head is taking proper care. shampoo with a suitable shampoo once a week. if u shampoo once a week, use a strong shampoo. if u do it everyday, choose a mild shampoo. conditioner is a must! i recommend one with keratin, as this is one of our hair's natural moisturisers.

    oil ur hair once a month. give it a hot oil treatment every week. comb ur hair after every bath and make sure it isn't exposed to the sun too much.

    that's all i can say. ask ur grandma for home remedies, coz they work wonders!
    Dear,

    Apart from the other suggestions, please try a small excercise daily for half an hour (whenever you are free to do)

    which was suggested by Guru Ramdevji Maharaj in one of the shows on TV. It is the most effective yoga I have ever found to prevent hair loss (with Experience).

    Fold your fingers of hands inwards,

    Make both the fists face each other,

    Try to rock the nails of one hand with the nails of the other hand, As per your conivinience any time in the day or night for small amount of times and in regularity.

    You will not find immediate change in your hair fall.

    But substantially, you will prevent the hair fall within two to three months, depending upon the intensity of hair fall and hereditory effect and also new hair starts growing on the bald head as well. But you must continue for quite long time like, say a year or two continuously.

    I am sure you will like it.

    Good luck.

    Does rogaine stimulate hair growth when the cause of the loss is NOT male pattern baldness?

    no! actually not! it will not work!!!

    year ago my husband suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice (you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed or/and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

    Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

    It worked and still works for him!

    I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

    http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.ph

    and here

    http://www.provillus.com/?aid=221781

    It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    Also Informative video about Provillus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ydvCHhbR

    good luck!

    not only my husband`s own personal experience + working as a family physician

    http://www.trichozed.info

    http://www.provilluss.infoDoes rogaine stimulate hair growth when the cause of the loss is NOT male pattern baldness?
    It could stimulate hair growth regardless of cause. Unlike propecia, rogaine doesn't block the production of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the supposed cause of male pattern baldness. Rogaine was originally tested as a blood pressure medication, but was found to stimulate hair growth (on the head and body) of both men and women. Unfortunately, it does not stimulate much hair growth, and the newly grown hair will be lost after a few months off the drug.Does rogaine stimulate hair growth when the cause of the loss is NOT male pattern baldness?
    If you know the cause, than you need to stop the cause (is it stress?), so you will stop your hair loss. I don't believe in too much chemicals. Good luck.

Any treatment please?
    Hi there

    Treating and stopping hair loss will be a troublesome task to try to do if you are clueless about how you can effectively do so. If you're serious regarding stopping alopecia and baldness so you can have more hair on your head, there are some tips that you must.

    Here are some tips that were helpful for me to stop the hair loss:

    1. Biotin Supplement

    By taking a recommended biotin supplement, many people I know, including me, have been able to extend the strength and growth of the hair. Biotin plays a significant role in your body's natural hair manufacturing process. For that reason, be sure you eat additional foods that contain that important vitamin. Foods like eggs, cereals and brown rice all contain biotin. I additionally advocate taking a good biotin supplement.

    2. Stress and Alopecia

    Stress is notoriously known for inflicting more than dozens of health disorders and diseases together with alopecia and baldness. The effects that stress causes on your hair volume is very significant. While inflicting this disorder, excessive stress also looks to worsen it. For this reason, if you are serious regarding stopping alopecia, make sure you keep your stress level regularly in check.

    Be sure you get sufficient rest and sleep every day. Don't work long hours without plenty of rest. Unleash the stress out before it builds up.

    3. Herbs and Natural Solutions for Baldness

    Herbs and natural remedies are some of the simplest alternative treatments for hair loss. Using herbs and natural remedies like green tea and stinging nettle can help you win the fight against baldness and hair loss. Here is a list of herbs and natural remedies that I have found to be very effective:

    * essential fatty acids like omega three

    * Malt made hair mask

    * green tea

    * pygeum

    * nettle roots

    * horsetail extracts

    * saw palmetto

    4. Scalp Massage

    Massage your scalp few times a day. By massaging your scalp frequently each day, you may be able to increase the blood circulation in the scalp area. This increased blood flow can aid a lot in transferring the very important growth stimulating nutrients like biotin and amino acids to your hair follicles. This will directly help increase your hair's strength, growth and volume all at the identical time.

    5. Get Proven FDA Approved Treatment

    Getting a good hair loss treatment is the most important issue but conjointly the most difficult. There are too many products and corporations within the market today and it's not simple to decide on the proper product for your needs.

    Anyhow, There are some reliable companies with good reputation that offer free trials of their products. Before wasting hundreds of bucks on useless products I will highly suggest to check these offers. Some of the big names are: Hairsol, Reatne, Smart organic, Provillus and more.

    I personally use the hairsol treatment for about 3 months and until now I'm very satisfied with the results. You can learn more about Hairsol's best free trial offer here:

    All the bestI have male pattern type hair loss.I am 20 years old.Regrowth is possible on my baldness? Any treatment please?
    so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks.(if your hair is really healthy then up the trims to about every 12 weeks, a trim is just a snip off the ends) if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the growth part of the e to kick in. the other benefits are instant. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins going on three months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap and also promotes hair regrowth and growth. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online. five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. i now take my fingers and message my scalp about five times a week, along with the brushing thats a good way to do it without damaging your hair. apply two or three capsules of e to dry hair and message into scalp and hair really well, put damp towel in microwave for 1 min to get hot, then quickly wrap head, a dry towel can be placed over that to help hold in the heat, leave on for 15 min, makes an excellent hot oil treatment. good luck
    A wig.

    Look at your Dad. Your hair will become like his, there is nothing you can do about it.

    Sorry.

    My dermatologist said that my hair loss is not due to male pattern baldness, but from stress?

    I'm only 18, and while there is male pattern baldness in my family, it has never set on this early. Mostly in the early 30s range.

    Anyway, my hair line seems to be receding, and I've never heard of this being caused by stress. Have you? Additionally, I've been losing a little hair all over (more than the normal amount but nothing drastric). Anyway, my dermatologist said he saw some regrowth.

    What do you think?My dermatologist said that my hair loss is not due to male pattern baldness, but from stress?
    Hair loss is caused by a lack of blood circulation to the scalp, and many many factors are involved (stress above all).

    I started losing my hair and I tried Propecia and Rogaine, with little results.

    I quit using them because I felt they were harming my health, so I tried to see what the 'alternative' cures had to offer.

    Everything seemed like a scam: creams, oils, nothing really hit the nail for me.

    One day I found out the ONLY site that explained correctly the theory behind hair loss: it is caused by micro-contractures on the scalp that reduce bloodflow and prevent hair from growing naturally and healthy.

    Their techniques are really effective and the videos are really powerful and speak for themselves

    I managed to stop my hair loss with the techniques I found in their ebook, and I am now regrowing my hair. :)

    This method works!

    The site is: http://www.nohairloss.orgMy dermatologist said that my hair loss is not due to male pattern baldness, but from stress?

    I can stop this with one simple tip: STOP WORRYING.

    I could explain what is happening to you through science but it is unnecessary. Listen, you have a genetic propensity for male pattern baldness. Think of it as any other disorder. When you stress out, your body starts stressing out too. Basically hormones are released to respond to stress to compensate and keep you ';safe'; (some are useless and prehistoric, and some are actually still useful)

    It is very well possible that stress is causing it. Try getting more sleep and more physical activity or do something that relaxes you. Yoga is great.

    Just relax, doing that will do more than you know.

    Who thinks this hair loss trick will work for male pattern baldness in men?

    O.K., there's a chinese philosophy on male pattern baldness in men is the reason they're bald even though it may be heredity is because of lack of blood flow to the scalp. O.K., now check this out, whenever I eat something spicy and hot. Such as Jalapeno peppers I always sweat at the top of my scalp very much and when I do this I know for a fact that my pores are open and blood flow is definitely at the top of my scalp. Along with using hair grease to make hair grow at the time of eating Jalapeno peppers or anything spicy. Do you think that the hair in my scalp can possibly come back? What do you think? I'm going to try it regardless if my hair grows back. Man, I will be so happy. I'm 30 years old and still can get my full head of hair back after 7 years of losing it.Who thinks this hair loss trick will work for male pattern baldness in men?
    I worked in a salon that did hair replacements, and we sold an herbal cream that was supposed to grow back new hair. My job was to apply the cream and take photos of the progress. It did bring some new hair growth, but fell short of looking like a luxurious head of hair. However, the clients were very pleased with the results. Even stopping the loss was a good thing.

    There was nothing that special in the herbal balm, it was more the action of massaging your scalp everyday. It certainly can't hurt, and it won't cost you anything to try.Who thinks this hair loss trick will work for male pattern baldness in men?
    I don't get it w/ people trying to grow hair when they can't. Maybe because I havn't gotten there. Anyway, you can't grow hair if it ain't there. You can implant hair or make it look like it, but you AREN';T going to grow it. Either get implants, wig or shave it off. Hope it helps.

  • Can stress related hair loss appear to be male pattern baldness?

    I am 22 and I recently pulled myself out of a mild depression. I had moved to a new city, I suffered high levels of stress and anxiety over a period of a year. I had chest pains from which I could not sleep and often felt it was a heart attack. I started noticing severe levels of hairloss on the top of my scalp. It appears to not be thinning out as badly as it is on the top. I quit my job, changed schools and I have managed to keep the stress levels under control. I consulted a dermatologist last week who spent 5 minutes speaking with me and didn't even bother to look physically at my hair. She just gave me the blanket response. ';Oh, you're losing your hair, this is male-pattern-baldness.'; I disagree, to a large degree my family has NO history of hairloss and the stress was so over whelming, the hairloss was so sudden. I understand that hair returns after stress usually in 6 months? Should I wait that long from when I gained stress control before I start rogaine?Can stress related hair loss appear to be male pattern baldness?
    It can be, so go check with your doc before it's too late.

    There are several forms of hair loss. If it is male pattern baldness (Androgenetic alopecia) then the hair loss cannot be fully cured in most cases, but just frozen for some time with the treatments availiable on market today.

    1) Hair transplant (FUE technology) creates really natural hairline, no scars, the best way to go if you have enough donor hair and money of course.

    2. Propecia (Finasteride) and Minoxidil are the only ones approved by FDA and proven to work in most men so far.

    Generic Propecia (finasteride) is also ok. I use it with same results, and unfortunately same side efefcts(a bit dry feeling in the scalp) as brand propecia. Have tried lots of herbal crap before it and laser combs, so far the only thing that prevents my hairloss, not much regrowth, but has stopped my hairloss completely.

    I buy from this pharmacy for the last 2 years - http://www.1rx.biz/generic_propecia.html . It is under $1 per pill for 1mg propecia.also see

    http://www.propecia.com

    http://www.rogaine.com

    But before you consider to start propecia you must really study about the side effects. It can mess your hormones real bad if you are not lucky, so you must choose, hair or these side effects. Quite a big perecent have these side effects, more than Merck - the company that holds

    Propecia trademark is saying. see the link for side effects stories www.propeciahelp.comCan stress related hair loss appear to be male pattern baldness?

    Hi, Isaac

    Yes, male pattern baldness can be caused by a strong stress, hormonal changes in men's body, side effect of certain medications, or it can be genetically pre-determined.

    I have the same problem. I used to have a very thick hair all my life. Until suddenly I had a very severe trouble between me and my brother. A deep depression was a result. I began to have so many health problems. Some of them are vitiligo, problems with digestion and hair loss.

    And I can say for sure: all of those things were caused by a strong stress.

    I visited many doctors, took all the medication they prescribed. Nothing helped me, but made me weaker.

    Then I took a decision to don't visit any doctors, because the majority of them (as happened to me) give you any medication, even not related to your problem. All what they want is just to cash in on their patients. And as long as patients visit them, they make money.

    So I began a self-treatment. I take different vitamin complexes, eat healthy food, stopped smoking etc.

    I became more calm, more relaxed, the vitiligo has almost gone, and the digestion is much better then before.

    As for loosing hair. I found a natural solution for hair loss. It is a composition of vitamins, herbs and nutrients. It is called Profinast and you can obtain it through http://www.no2hairloss.com or any other partner site you may find on the net. I take Profinast during 2 months so far and it really helps me. First of all, I don't loose hair any more. Secondly, I can see a significant hair growth on the previously balding area.

    Don't take Rogaine. Your doctor didn't tell you that, but Rogaine should not be used by people with a history of heart problems, chest pains, or rapid heartbeat.

    You can read an article about different methods of hair loss treatment at

    Can thyroid problem hair loss be diagnosed as male pattern baldness?

    I'm 23 years old (male) and have been losing a significant amount of hair for about a year now. Recently, its just been getting worse. I also notice I have flaky, dry scalp, with really small pieces of skin falling off occasionally (not sure if its dandruff). I've gotten my TSH levels checked and they appeared to be normal according to my doctor. He referred me to a dermatologist that simply ran his finger through the top of my head and concluded I have male pattern baldness (prescribed me propecia). I'm not sure if thats a good enough evaluation from my dermatologist. I also noticed I have dry skin and I suffer from some serious food coma. In fact, I find myself tiring quite easily. Now I'm kind of confused as to what my problem really is...if I continue to lose hair at this rate, I'd be bald in no time!!! Is it really male pattern baldness and I'm just thinking too much, or could it be an unseen/undiagnosed thyroid problem?Can thyroid problem hair loss be diagnosed as male pattern baldness?
    It's possible. Do you know what your TSH number was? Also, was the TSH done first thing in the morning? TSH is highest while we sleep, so you want to test asap in the morning while its near this high point. By 2PM, its at its lowest point and could stop a diagnosis.

    A TSH over 2.0 is not normal, but most doctors won't treat you until the TSH is over 3.0 and some 5.5.

    My advice is to find out the TSH. If it was done in the afternon, retest it. Also, get a free t4 and free t3. Then you'll know if the hairloss is thyroid related or not. I had hairloss, even the outer part of my eyebrows disappeared. Once I got on Armour thyroid my eyebrows grew back and the thinning of my hair stopped.Can thyroid problem hair loss be diagnosed as male pattern baldness?
    Hypothyroidism does cause a lot of hair loss. When I had thyroid problems my hair would fall off in incredible amounts...yes, scary amounts. As soon as my TSH was controlled my hair was back to normal.

    I would double check your TSH, T3 and T4 and get a second opinion.

    Is my hair loss due to weight loss or male pattern baldness?

    Im a 19 yr old male who weighed 215 and now weigh 165. I recently lost about 60 pounds during the summer(in about 2 months) by drastically cutting down what I ate but didn't notice any thinning of the hair until September or early October. I may have hyperthyroidism aswell. Since then I have been taking vitamins and eating pretty healthy but my hair still falls out and has become inceasingly thin on top of my head. Is this male pattern baldness or from weightloss? When will my hair start growing back and are there any suggestions as to what this may be?Is my hair loss due to weight loss or male pattern baldness?
    You need to go get checked out by a doctor since lack of certain nutrients can cause balding, or it could be male pattern balding, as well. No one on here is going to be able to tell you for sure what it is, so you need to get checked out since if it is nutrition related, it may get pretty serious.Is my hair loss due to weight loss or male pattern baldness?
    your very unhealthy, thats what it is. IN NO WAY is losing 60 pounds in 2 months healthy. I know, i did the same thing. My hair thinned, my nails were brittle, i was weak, didnt have much muscle, and still had alot of fat. You lost weight the wrong way, and now your body is paying for it. Start eating and exercising the right way and your hair will grow back out. also it could be if your stressed

    A greasy scalp causes hair loss, but there are many baldness remedies using emu oil. Can someone clarify??

    Oily/Greasy scalp doesn't necessarily result in hair loss problems. However, it does make you more likely to have Sebum plugs in and around your hair follicles. Sebum plugs block the hair follicles, which can result in hair loss. Sebum plugs are the oils that form on your scalp... and sometimes can harden and block your hair follicles. Over time, it can ';sufficate'; it, so the root of your hair becomes weaker and weaker -- thinner and thinner.

    You can get a hair follicle analysis for really cheap these days. And, they can tell you if it's the Sebum Plugs that are causing your hair loss.

    Tea tree oil, mixed with Lavender and Jojoba oil dissolves Sebum plugs. Paul Mitchell has a Tea Tree Oil shampoo/conditioner that works well.A greasy scalp causes hair loss, but there are many baldness remedies using emu oil. Can someone clarify??
    i,m not bald but i did hear that if you get a jersey cow to lick you head that works wellA greasy scalp causes hair loss, but there are many baldness remedies using emu oil. Can someone clarify??
    I've never heard of a greasy scalp causing hair loss. Sounds like something an old woman would say to make sure the kids wash their hair every day.

    I've had oily hair, and I suppose, an oily scalp, for the past 35 years, and I can assure you, i am far from bald.

    Many oils calm split ends on hair, giving a smoother look and therefore looking healthier. I don't know that emu oil in and of itself does anything, but I am pretty darn sure it won't make you go bald.

    you need to have a bit of bloodwork (hormone levels) and go online and research Propecia, see if that may apply to you.Hi. Im a student of 22 years. im having a problem of hair loss ... im having baldness in front of my head.?
    Rub the backs of your nails together, it stimulates folicles.
    Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently.Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

    A question about male genetic hair loss (male pattern baldness)?

    My father's mother has hair loss (thinned out hair) so my father's younger brother went bald at 18 and my father thinned out a lot in his late 40's. He may look bald from far away but close up its just really thin hair. But my father's father had a full head of hair so I'm assuming he got this from his mother

    My mother's side is different, both her parents have a full head of hair, and 3 of her sisters show no signs of thinning. She had a younger brother but he died in his 20's so we can't tell whether or not he was going to go bald but he wasn't when he passed.

    I'm 27 and I still have a full head of hair although the front may have thinned a tiny bit. Is it possible that I will inherit a little bit of both from my mother and father in the sense that my hair will thin but I may not go completely bald? Or will I go bald?A question about male genetic hair loss (male pattern baldness)?
    baldness comes from the dad's side, if im not mistaken...if you take rogaine it prevents any further hair loss..but it wont grow it back once it's gone...so get on the box pronto so no one will have to know!!A question about male genetic hair loss (male pattern baldness)?

  • Can stress really cause hair loss (male pattern baldness - ';M' shaped in the front)?

    I have been very stressed lately (after the death of my dad two years ago) and I have been to my doctor a couple of times and to the ER one time because I have been having chest pains and back pains.. my doctor took an X-ray, EKG and bloodtests... they came out all normal. My doctor told me that I am just stressed out so she referred me to see a counselor which i am currently seeing. Now my chest pains and backpains went away, but now i am more forgetful than before and sometimes I can't concentrate when im doing my homework and school essays. My question is can Stress cause hair loss such as male pattern baldness? I have been experiencing male pattern baldness in the front (';M'; shaped) and i went to see my doctor also about it and she told me its normal and she told me to take rogaine, so I have been taking that medication for almost a year now. The only thing is I have read a lot of articles online that severe stress can cause hair to fall out and if your stress is finally under controlled then your hair will regrow in 6 months or so. IS that true? is that mean that if i finally able to control my stress, my hair in the front will finally grow again? should i continue taking rogaine? or should i stop and wait for 6 months, and check if my hair will grow back. I am only 21 years old and my dad had thin hair but he never experienced male pattern baldness. So i'm very confused. please help!

    thank you for your time. Can stress really cause hair loss (male pattern baldness - ';M' shaped in the front)?
    no. you can pull your hair out from stress, or get alopecia where patches of hair fall out. but male pattern baldness is in your genes stress has nothing to do with it.Can stress really cause hair loss (male pattern baldness - ';M' shaped in the front)?

    A dermatologist can do a blood test to determine if you have male pattern baldness. Yes Stress certainly can cause hair loss.

    Hair loss getting quite extreme...is this normal for male pattern baldness?

    Hi all, my doctor diagnosed me with male-pattern baldness. However, I've been on Propecia for almost 2 months and the hair loss has only increased. Its so bad that when i run my fingers through my hair, I have hair with roots between my fingers. Is this normal for male-pattern baldness or is my doctor wrong in his diagnosis. Furthermore, I got my thyroid tested and the results are within the range, with a TSH of 3.6.

    Can someone help me out?Hair loss getting quite extreme...is this normal for male pattern baldness?
    If you Doctor diagnosed MPB let's assume is right, but maybe it's a good idea to get a second opinion.

    If Propecia doesn't work for you, try the new Dutasteride it supposedly blocks 93% of the DHT (stuff that causes MPB).

    Also you should combine your oral products with a topical product like Minoxidil.

    http://www.hairlossline.com/articles/treHair loss getting quite extreme...is this normal for male pattern baldness?
    Just to share : Been on minoxidil for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.

    My hair only started visibly growing after doubtfully trying out the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info

    I would highly recommend this easy to follow step-by-step guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now.

    Anyway, its also a cheaper and effective way of re-growing lost hair compared to those unnatural ways which may involve harsh chemicals that may have side effects.
    Also try Evening Primrose Oil supplements (good source of Omega 3). It helps to prevent the chemical conversion of testosterone in your scalp that causes the hair to fall out.

    Try getting your TSH measured once more as 3.6 is just beyond the new normal range of 0.3 -3.0. It could have gone higher since your last test. Mine went up by more than 3 in just a few weeks. Also get your T4 checked, the free thyroid hormone in your blood.

    A dermatologist can tell you if your hairloss is typical of male-pattern baldness.
    It's hard to explain but this is what i know:

    *60% is genetics

    *Due the stress the baldness increases its speed to loose hair.

    *eating a lot of fat food increases the speed of loosing hair.

    Use neutral shampoo, dont use mouse, dont smoke, drink alcohol, do some sport, eat a lot of nuts and fish (omega3),

    use eucerin ph5 in all your body.

    My brothers , my father and my uncle are BALD, I have a lot of hair, my conclusion, meditation, sport, healthy food and avoid harsh comments from other people.
    If your hair loss is due to an abnormal hormonal imbalance - phytosterols might work. They are plant based nutrients that support our organs' production of all sorts of enzymes and substances they secrete, including hormones. They balance the body - rather than force it. A modulator, not a stimulator.

    One source is wild Mexican yam.
    I am over 60. I started losing hair when I was around 23.... from a little tiny patch (looked like a scar) at the back. By the time I was 50 I was bald.....and now silvered hair. However I found a solution for both....thanks to the latest trend.

    I shaved my hair...and became a skin head. This way..I am following the trend....and due to my unseen ';grey'; silvered hair...because it is shaven....I also do not look that old. You see people funnily enough measure age by the colour of hair...rather by the wrinkles on the face.

    When the testosterone levels of men with full heads of hair are compared to men with hair loss the men with hair loss have a high level of testosterone. May be that's why some women like bald men, it's a sign of virility.Can stress really cause hair loss (male pattern baldness - ';M' shaped in the front)?
    Stress can definitely cause hair loss and also slower re-growth of hair. I should work on reducing your stress levels and see if things improve. Don't know about the product you are taking so can't advise you whether to continue it or not. That would be up to your GP. Hair loss can run in families, but if you worry about that as well you will be increasing your stress!

    Is baldness sexy? Or are men right to hide hair loss with comb overs?

    Just wondering. http://www.dilbert.com/fast/1993-04-13/ What are your views on this?Is baldness sexy? Or are men right to hide hair loss with comb overs?
    Go completely bald and draw attractive pictures on your head. Like a seagull or dragon.Is baldness sexy? Or are men right to hide hair loss with comb overs?
    haha funny comic :)

    but baldness is hot for some guys, like Vin Deisel for example, but you have to have the right body for it. and when only the tops of guys heads are bald and theres hair around the side, its just balding, hah if your old enough, no one really cares, but DONT comb over its just stupid looking.
    it depends it suits some one not all of them. But it makes a man look older, so I think there are many cosmetic operations to inplant hair, many men if they afford it they go for it.
    No! It's up to the man to do what he wants, but comb overs look so awkward and fake. There are plenty of bald men who are quite attractive: Michael Jordan, Patrick Stewart, Yul Brinner, etc.
    Different strokes for different folks... applies here... Perhaps different strokes with a brush or comb would be more exact.
    some bald men are sexy well i can thnk of one .....:) X WELL i would like to run my finger over his head on his shoulders haha /some are so ugly you wouldnt put boot in ?
    comb overs are definitely not sexy!!!!
    comb overs are definitely not sexy and some men can pull off looking good bald
    Comb overs are the WORST if you just have a but of hair don`t go with the comb overs
    I actually like bald men. Its when they try to hide it knowing it looks very fake.
    baldness is sexy in the right places.
    Comb overs = not sexy!!

    If you're going bald - be proud of it!
    surely not....

    Olive oil helps regaining hair from baldness or preventing more hair loss?

    someone told me that rubbing olive oil every day before sleep for a mere 8 days,and never again,would help curing baldness because olive oil helps to break excess hardened sebum on the scalp and eliminate bacteries?could that be true?Olive oil helps regaining hair from baldness or preventing more hair loss?
    It probably will make your hair in better condition, but there isn't anything to using it for 8 days only. I don't think it is a cure for baldness or hair loss. Are you going bald or is it just a natural hair dropping and not loss that shows in a bare patch. I would seek a professional place that restores hair if going bald or use some of the products that have been advertised. I think it starts with a M. I have seen it sold in pharmacies.Olive oil helps regaining hair from baldness or preventing more hair loss?
    Hair loss is caused by testosterone in the blood affecting the hair follicles in some way, due to genetic makeup. I don't see how olive oil applied externally could affect this process in any way.
    No that's not true.. don't waste your time.. I've bee using that for so long and my hair only keeps dropping.. Don't believe that!

    Can vitamins stop hair loss due to male pattern baldness?

    can i stop my receding hair line and thinning crown by eating a healthy diet rich in vitamins that are goood for your hair like vitamin b, vitamin e, biotin and zinc?

    also has anyone heard of red wine benefiting your hair if you drink a glass at night?

    thanxCan vitamins stop hair loss due to male pattern baldness?
    yes! of course!!!

    year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

    It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

    It worked and still works for him!

    I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.com/?id=fc7a24

    It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    good luck!

    not only my and my husband`s own personal experienceCan vitamins stop hair loss due to male pattern baldness?
    I heard that the pill Propecia can help with male balding but you would need a prescription for it and insurance usually doesn't cover the costs.

    You should do some research to make sure Propecia is right for you. You can visit hair loss forums and consult a doctor as well.

    ';i dont want to eat too much vegetables and fruits. thanks';

    %26gt;%26gt; What else can I recommend? That's the cheapest way to look good and stay healthy. Otherwise get your wallet out for bottles and bottles of pills or worse still hair transplant op.

    I feel for you because you're so young. However, these issues you're suffering from we all did at some stage. I can recommend http://profinast.org/?victor444 and http://acnope.com/?victor444 both natural remedies for hair loss and acne respectively. good luck
    Well, simple put, ';i dont want to eat too much vegetables and fruits'; you have just made a choice-or at least a preference. The issue now is, WHICH is more important to you, good health (eating fruits and veggies) or looking like a 40 year old 30 years before your time.

    In all the rest of your life you will be confronted with similar and simple questions like this. Your choices WILL determine where you end up in life.

    Many times people will ask a question like you have, prefacing it with a statement of what you DON'T want to do-as if there is an alternative universe for you to travel through, one wher your parents and friends advice do not count. Someplace where the rules are different. They think that somehow we (parents and friends) are lying to them, that we have answers that we are not sharing with you. We don't. We only have the ONE right way to do things. If only there WERE a pill for loosing hair, banishing pimples,dispatching dandruff, but the only answers we have today are more rudabagas, cooked cabbage, and large helpings of giant butter beans.

    Bon appitite
    i really feel for you teenage years can be quite hard and no one to turn to. just go along and make an appointment with your doctor , he will certainly be able to help with the acne and pimples and also can prescribe specific shampoo. but if you dont ask for help you wont get it hes not a mind reader . so write your questions on a piece of paper so you dont forget them .

    once sorted smile and enjoy yourself
