Hair loss and pregnancy please help!?

I have bald spots that are making it very difficult for me to do anything with my hair, i can't put it anyway it seems like because there is a bald spot somewhere. My recent one is on the back of my head, so I can't even wear my hair down anymore. My doctor says that there's nothing to do about it, so is there any tips on what to do with my hair so people don't think I'm balding? I was thinking of getting a perm...but there is an up and down on how it affects the baby. So maybe not... any shampoos or anything that will safely strengthen my hair? Or should I just shave it off...haha...I dunno what to do.

I've also heard that you lose hair after the baby is born, if I lose anymore hair, I think I will be bald...HELP!

~34 weeks pregnant with first baby~Hair loss and pregnancy please help!?
It's common. don't worry, just go to the Dr for no other causes!Hair loss and pregnancy please help!?
i also have a bold patch at the back of my head, a size of a 2 pence, and I'm 7 months pregnant, and this is my first pregnancy. its very common because lack of vitamins. any way try to keep your hair up so people wont notice it, at the moment the doctors wont be able to help because your pregnant but after the baby's born you can then get it checked out from a skin specialist or you can try the Chinese shops which have herbal stuff that will help your hair grow from the root.

good luck
unfortunatly there is nothing that you can do. my hair is falling out aswell but im lucky because it is just thinning out all over. no bald spots yet. i wouldnt suggest getting a perm or do anything that will damage your hair just yet. look after the locks you have. not long till your baby is born %26amp; once your hormones settle down you will notice your hair will return to normal.... good luck
Okay, as far as I know it's more common to grow hair during pregnancy than to lose it. However, I realize all pregnancies are different and all women are different. I just want to toss one thing out there. Sometimes your thyroid can be thrown off from pregnancy and a dysfunctional thyroid can wreak havoc on your hormones, which often leads to hair loss. If your doctor already ruled out a thyroid problem, great. If you two never discussed it, please go back and get a blood test. If it is your thyroid, they can give you meds to get your thyroid back to normal...meds safe for pregnancy, I might add.

After pregnancy I was losing hair by the handful. This started about a month after and went on for about a good 4 months. Hair was everywhere. I'd comb it and the brush would be FULL of hair. I went in and had my hairdresser give me some serious protein treatments. It took about 3 of them before I noticed it wasn't falling out anymore. In fact, I just had one today for good measure. I can't imagine that protein would be harmful to your baby, so you might want to discuss this with your doctor and hairdresser. It worked for me. And if you can't do it now, definitely have a few treatments done (about every two weeks) once you have the baby.

Good luck Sweetie and hang in there... it's almost over.
Your situation is normal, use these tips:

- take fish oil pills (cod liver).

- use hair vitamins pills.

- each 3 days apply oil bath.

- use brewers yeast daily
I don't really know of anything you could do for this. I just wanted to say sorry for what your going through. When your pregnant you already feel unsexy as it is, I can't imagine having hair loss on top of that!

Just know it's for the best reason in this world!!

Sorry I can't help, and I hope your conditions gets better soon, or atleast after delivery!

CONGRATS on baby!
most ppl dont shed their hair during pregnancy so its fuller so after pregnancy what normally wouldve fallen out in that time kinda starts coming out all at 1ce so it seems that your loosin a lot but really jus makin up lost time so hopefully in your case it seems you wont have to make up for lost time and wont lose anymore after baby comes i know thats not solution to the problem(other then puttin on hat i have no good cover up methods) best to you and hope lots of growth 1ce babies here and no more falling out (oh i have heard tea tree oil is really good check with your dr it dosent smell gr8 but you could jus mix a lil in with your shampoo)
Well, I can help with the second part of your question... A lot of people lose hair after having a baby, even up to six months later, although I didn't lose my hair I know of plenty of people who did.

As for covering up thinning hair while pregnany, I'm not sure what you could do.. a perm might help, or maybe a headband that would pull your hair back from your face and possibly cover the balding areas better? All the best for the rest of your pregnancy.
It sounds like you are losing a lot more hair than normal during pregnancy. I would ask your doctor if it would be okay to get a second opinion from another doctor. There is no way you should be losing that much hair. Are you on any medications? Anti-depressants can sometimes cause some hair to fall out...
