Extreme hair loss but no signs of thinning. What does this mean? Is this bad or good?

I am 26 yrs old and female. My hair is not thinning at all, but my hair is constantly coming out. I don't know if it is stress or if I have a deficiency in something but I can run my fingers through my hair and come out with a handful of hair. I am constantly having to sweep and vacuum up my hair on a daily basis and my tub is clogged up as well, because of it constanly falling out.

I'm not sure if this falls into the catagory of anxiety or not but I have been diagnosed with stress-related anxiety disorder and have trouble breathing from time to time. When the breathing spells occurr, I generally make myself yawn in order to get a full deep breath. It's very frustrating and can sometimes lead into a full blown panic attack.

The hair loss is similarly frustrating because it doesn't seem to stop. It's constant.

Is anyone else having these problems? And if so, does anyone have any tips or remedies to help in this situation???Extreme hair loss but no signs of thinning. What does this mean? Is this bad or good?
when i was your age i started having the same problem with my hair and 5 years later i found i had hypothyroidism which is when your thyroid gland located on each side of your neck produces not enough thyroxism(sp) it is a hormone that your thyroid gland secret. it also can cause weight gain and fatigue. Hyperthyroidism is the opposite you can loose your hair but you will loose weight and later in life it will effect your heart and if you have a very high pulse this might be what is going on now i am not a doctor so if i was you i would get it checked out because stress can also cause hair loss i hope this helps you some.Extreme hair loss but no signs of thinning. Ok, I have thick hair and it has fallen out like yours and un- noticeably.

I am 29 recently, and still ok.
my dad had this condition as well, when he was in his early to mid fourties. His hair fell out in large chunks, and never grew back. It is caused by stress, I am pretty sure.

Go see a doctor and relax more. Consider taking an hour out of each day to do a hobby, like painting or even better yoga.
Get your thyroid checked. It sounds like you could have thyroid problems.
Anxiety/stress...I hope you are on medication. It could make a big difference in your life. There are lots and lots of people who have problems like yours...some not as bad, and some are worse. Medication and therapy are the keys...and determination. You can do it! kjl
Seriously, please go to the doctor and just get tested. I'm 30 and have been experiencing the same type of hair loss for the last year or so. Of course everyone kept saying it was natural blah blah blah. Well, guess what it's not and now after a year of that I've lost over half of the hair on my head and it has thinned out considerably. All it takes is a bloodtest to help figure out the problem or deficiency. Good Luck!
go ayurvedic medicine.its 100% solves the problem

What is your height and weight? If your body mass index (BMI) is under 18.5, then your hair loss could be due to inadequate nutrition. Check out this BMI calculator:

Could be a hormonal imbalance. Particularly testosterone can cause loss of hair, so you could get your hormone levels checked and like the previous poster says, thyroid problems could cause hair loss too. Sounds like your under alot of stress. A trip to the doctor for a talk would be beneficial and get some bloodwork.
