Hair Thinning/Hair Loss Question.?

I am only 21 and my hair is beginning to thin and I've got a little bit of a receding hair line. I definetly believe there are ways to regrow the thin spots back out until it is thick and nice again. I've found some ways so far and one of the ways is to massage the hair and scalp with aloe vera gel or coconut milk for 15-20 minutes after you bath with water, then rinse with warm water. Now I tried to get some 100% aloe vera gel at my health food store where I work, but most of the gels had additives in the product. For the recipe, it only said ';aloe vera gel';, and nothing more. Im not sure what kind to get and im not sure what additives should be avoided in order to REALLY improve hair regrow instead of making it worse. In some of the aloe vera gels was a citric acid as a preservitive and I wasnt sure if the citric acid would thin hair even more. Can someone with experience in this kind of thing please give me some advice? Thanks.Hair Thinning/Hair Loss Question.?
Try Rogaine for Men.It really works. Seriously. You can buy it at Wal-Mart. But talk to your Dr. first.Hair Thinning/Hair Loss Question.?
I'm a beautician and yes there are solutions to your problem. The first thing you may want to consider is trying a multiple step program, called Nioxin. It is a shampoo, conditioner, many other scalp treatments, follicle booster and what not. It comes in many levels as well as strengths. Ask a hair care professional for more details. Since it is a professional product your hairdresser would be the one to purchase it from. Also there is a topical treatment called minoxidil (don't know if it is spelled correctly) that is a topical treatment that can be purchased over the counter. Ask a pharmacist about it. There is also on the line of Nioxin but not as many steps, is the Paul Mitchel Botanical prep that may help. Paul Mitchell also has a shampoo and conditioner along with styling products called Tea Tree. These stimulate the follicle with tingle affect that can help hair growth, but the tea tree would be for a little less serious condition. However, once you return to fuller hair the Tea Tree could help in maintaining you fullness. Hope this helps!!
try a hair shampoo that thickens your hair like vive for men
Somethings that people overlook when they experience hair loss or thinning is their health.

If you have lot of stress try to minimize what's causing it.

Nutrition is something else that plays a big part in this problem. If you're not getting enough vitamins and minerals hair loss can be the result.

Some medications cause hair loss.

I think you should see your Internist to eliminate any of these causes. I think after you could try a dermatologist.
If the additive in the aloe vera is just citric acid, don't worry about it. Citric acid will by no means make your hair fall out. If it's too concentrated, however, it will strip your hair of natural oils. That's not going to contribute to healthy hair very well. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure you can buy a big bottle of clear, (possibly pure) aloe vera gel from Wal-Mart, and it's really cheap. Just mae sure that you never buy the green stuff, there is a possibility that your hair could absorb the pigment.

You're doing the right thing with the massage. I've never heard of the Aloe vera, but if it works, I'll keep it in mind. Exercise might work too. Hair growth is stimulated by blood flow. If you get your blood pumping, your hair will probably be healthier.
All I can do is offer you a reason...it's something like this:..sebum deposits in the folicles turning to testosterone agents being trapped in the folicle and causing the shaft to thin and or not regrow slowing the 4 part cycles of hair growth.....the reason it doesnt happen in women it seems is because womens hair grows at a different angle then mens...less sebum is trapped in the folicle because their hair grows at an angle where mens hair grows straight out...or visa versa I cant quite remember which...in any event...that being said i would recommend at your early stages of loss to keep your folicles as clean as possible to retard the onset of hairloss as much as possible...good luck...
There is some useful advice here.
I'm afraid the best thing for thinning or receding hair is to get used to the fact. I don't want to sound negative, but unless you have a specific illness hair loss results from the genes you were born with telling your hair follicles to shut down production about now. Although Regaine, which your first answerer suggested, has been shown to restore some hair, it is not to all men, restoration is very limited, and treatment, which is very expensive, has to continue forever. The remedies you suggest will not make any difference. One day there may be gene therapy which works, but I bet that will be expensive too. I'm sorry it's bugging you - it bugged me when I started losing my hair at 24 - but you get used to it, and benefit when you do. Here's a tip: if you can demonstrate the confidence to crop short and live with your hair loss, see if women find that more attractive or less!
