Hair loss/baldness prevention or cure?

My dad is bald and everyone in my moms family has hair. I want to know if there is a way to prevent/slow down hair loss. It probably is impossible to stop it and if it is then I will have to deal with it. I am 16 and I am losing hair on my sides. I use dandruff shampoo, which I heard worsens it. If it is impossible then are the hair restoration surgeries real? How does it work? How much does it cost? Will it be like the hair you had before? Is there a risk? Please do not post answers from a product you heard on a website. If you are going to post a product, put one that you have tried or one that you can prove with actual facts. Nutritional supplements to naturally prevent hair loss

The most common ways to prevent hair from shredding and thinning could be found in our own backyards. You may have any of the following herbs and vitamins right in your own homes so start your natural regimen:

Saw Palmetto. The oil of the saw palmetto is treats minor hyperplasia in men. The palmetto is known to react with sex hormones including DHT which causes hair loss. The saw palmetto oil guarantees the same result as that of the use of the propecia or finasteride drug.

Zinc supplements. These minerals should be taken with proper dosage because any over dose may result to copper deficiency. If you have a low copper level, hair loss problems could occur.
Provillus has been designed as a natural cure for those whose bodies have a lack of nutrients and vitamins which are essential for hair growth.

It is a two-part treatment which uses a ';topical solution'; to prevent any further hair loss and ';nutrient tablets'; to help your body start regrowing your hair itself.

Provillus wasn't designed to help genetic baldness but it is very effective in the most common form of hair loss - where your body doesn't have the right nutrients to keep hair growing healthily.

As far as I know - it's impossible to know for sure what type of hair loss you have (genetic or otherwise) so if I were you, I'd just get some sort of natural treatment and try it out for a few months BEFORE the condition gets much worse.

If it don't work, then you know you're probably dealing with genes :)
