Teenager Hair Loss Problems?

I think I may be loosing way to much hair.

I have naturally curly hair, and taking care of it is a huge pain sometimes.

But recently in the past month I stopping shampooing my hair because of the chemicals.

I started doing something called ';The Curly Girl Method'; and what that is, is just not using shampoo, and using conditioner to wash your hair. And you have to make sure that the conditioner has no Cones or sulphates.

I've researched before, and have read that using to much conditioner in your hair can make it fall out more. I just ignored it at the time, because I have curly hair, I thought it would be different for me.

So I've been conditioner washing my hair for almost a month, I love my curl results. But my pony tail keeps getting slimmer and slimmer I think. And when I'm in the shower it looks like I'm loosing up to 100 or more hairs, JUST in the shower. I know that 100 fall outs a day is normal.

But I've also noticed that my hair part shows up more and more. You can see my scalp more.

I don't straighten my hair, in fact I don't use heat on it at all.

I use safe products now, and yet my hair falls out more now then when I didn't care what was in my products.

One of the cons while using the curly girl method is that my hair gets really oily ALOT faster. I used to go two- three days without it getting oily. But now it gets oily, and i have dandruff. I've NEVER had dandruff, and my scalp is itchy. I know its most likely from just using conditioner. So I bought some SAFE shampoo, with no sulfates or parabens. And am now going to start using that once maybe twice a week.

But this hair loss is scaring me, I am ATTACHED to my hair. And I want this hair loss the stop.

I want my hair to grow back, and to have thick curly hair again.

It's not drastic hair loss... YET. But it's gotten alot worse. And I want to take action.

What do I do?

Please and Thank you!Teenager Hair Loss Problems?
Your hair loss could be stress related, but if you think you're starting to lose your hair you may want to start doing something about it right now. I had the same problem and started using Rogaine for women and I haven't noticed any hair falling out. The only downside to using it is that you need to use it on a regular basis.

Sometimes you can find free samples to get you started. I don't know if there are anymore left here but you can always try http://www.freesamplesfromheaven.com/rog

I hope that helps :)Teenager Hair Loss Problems?
you might have aleopecia.

a disorder where you lose hair. are you under any stress?

i'd get it checked out with a professional.

Definitely stop using that conditoner and method.

Go back to using a regular shampoo and conditioner daily.

Since you have very fragile hair, try Johnson's baby shampoo. It doesn't have the harsh chemicals of other products :D
Um... then don't use conditioner to wash your hair. It's not washing it. It's just adding more oil. Use Garneir... that stuff is amazing! Next time you read that this and that makes you hair fall out, heed the warnings. It will grow back eventually.
hun. just start using shampoo and conditioner.. panteen has a great shampoo and conditioner for curls. and so does treesemee. panteen also has thick hair shampoo and conditioner.. both work :) hope this helps!!
Stop using the conditioner! You're probably getting an irritated scalp and dandruff because it is not used to that type of method of only using conditioner.
I've been using the curly girl method for about five months and I love it. Even my stylist noticed the difference in my hair. I would talk to a doctor. Hair loss could be an indication of a more serious problem. Don't automatically blame the conditioner.

I use Dove Anti-Frizz conditioner and follow with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration.
It's normal for your hair to become oily faster: it is getting back to it's natural balance, and the intermediate step is oily hair (which could also cause the hair to fall out, caused not only by the excessive sebum by also by a regularization of the hair cycle).

I won't stress this enough: this really is a ';miracle'; treatment!

It's 100% natural and it's theory it's so simple and so effective!

I used it on myself and it has worked where even Propecia and Rogaine failed...

Definitely worth a try!

Matt
